Last Wednesday some students and a teacher came into the Senior Room and told us about Colàiste Cholmcille in Ballyshannon. They were explaining about the Open Day for 6th class to look around the school and meet other students going to Colàiste Cholmcille.

Light and shadow!
This week we were learning about light and shadows. We did a science experiment about what different shapes made the best rainbow. We discovered that different objects make different shadows and rainbows. As part of that project we did some art. After drawing around our shadows and cutting them out, we took some photos out of magazines or off the internet and cut them out. We stuck them to our silhouettes in a brain shape. It was a lot of fun. Some people looked totally different to what they actually look like.
On Wednesday our old R.E. teacher Joe came to play. It was good to see him after such a long time. We sang some of our old favourite songs and played a game of pin the nose on the snowman. We had a lot of fun. We cannot wait to see Joe and Brian again.
Terry came back on Tuesday after having the flu. We were training for basketball and we had played a game of basketball. It was fun but very tiring.
On Friday 13th 5th and 6th class will be going to the Abbey Vocational School to play some basketball. We wish them luck.
On Friday 6th a college student training to be a teacher came in and drew maps with 5th class. She was doing a big project in college on Geography. We hope we have helped her with her studies.
Next Monday the tickets will go on sale for the fundraising show in the Abbey Hotel in April. The show is for adults only. The children will be making a video for the show. Some of the parents have volunteered to dance. That should be a lot of fun to watch.
We have been donated some science games such as hot wires, lemon energy, potato energy, bedlam cube, traffic jam and grow your own snow. Hopefully we will be able to do all the experiments soon.
