On Wednesday the 2nd of October, my class and I went to Letterkenny to a practice for the Peace Proms.
To begin with, we all came to school and got on the bus to Letterkenny. It took about three quarters of an hour to get there so we had to leave early. On the bus I sat beside Lavina. We were bored at first but then we started having fun.
After a while we arrived and went into An Grianán. An Grianán is a very famous theatre that can hold up to over three hundred people.
When we went in we sat down. After a few minutes our conductor came in and introduced himself. His name is Gearóid and he is very nice. He is also very funny. After we talked to him we started practicing our songs and a woman called Sharon practiced our dancing with us.
Finally, we got back on the bus. We were all tired and hungry and couldn’t wait to get back to school for lunch. On the way home I sat beside Lavina again.
It was really fun and I had a great time. I can’t wait for the real thing!
Peace Proms trip
On Wednesday 2nd October 2013 we went to an Grianán in Letterkenny. My whole class went to practise for the Peace Proms. I was very thrilled that I was going to sing with 300 people and an orchestra.
At 9.20 am we prepared to leave by gathering our coats and our lunch boxes then we got on the bus and we picked our seats to sit until we reached Letterkenny.
When we arrived we had a drink and we were ready to begin our walk to the door. When we got in we were asked if we needed to use the toilet but I did not need to go so MrsSomerville showed us our seats.
Suddenly the bright lights went on. After a minute we were introduced to our conductor Gearóid, by a lovely lady called Sharon. We were taught lots of original songs.
Two hours later we had to leave. I was disappointed but we had to leave for school. On the way home I talked to Alan our bus driver. I sat beside Kaithlyn on the bus. We practised and talked on the way home.
I had a jolly good time and now I cannot wait till the big show.
