We were visited during the week by David Myles and Ivan Diver. We thank them very much for the donation of €475 to our school funds. The money was raised on a recent bus tour around north and west Donegal and we are indebted to them for thinking of the children. Unfortunately, the grants we receive from the Government are no longer sufficient to meet even the running costs of our school now so this is a very welcome boost to our funds.
Sympathy
We offer our condolences to the Moore family following their recent bereavement.
David Lyttle
Thank you to those who donated to the fund for David Lyttle's retirement present. He was presented with an engraved watch at his retirement function in the Abbey Hotel at the end of June. We thank Nigel and Jayne Wallace for speaking and making the presentation on the school's behalf.
Assembly
We are very pleased that our regular visitors will be joining us again for Assemby each Thursday - Reverend Russell, Reverend Corrie, Mrs Russell and David McAllister. We are delighted to see Reverend Corrie so well recovered after his illness but we have banned him from this year's egg and spoon race on Sports Day.
Peace Proms Preparation
The children in the Senior Room will visit Letterkenny on Wednesday 2nd October for rehearsal for their concert.
Volunteers
We thank Jenny Mahon and Jackie McGlinchey for offering to come in on a voluntary basis to help with classroom and school activities.
We are pleased to welcome Mrs Russell back to school to teach R.E. to the children in 4th, 5th and 6th class.
Pictured here are the children at the end of last year when Mrs Russell presented them with their certificates.
