Well done to the children from 1st to 6th Class for singing and performing so well at this morning's Harvest Thanksgiving Service. We also thank all those parents who ensured their children were present and came along to support their children and the school. On display in the church was a selection of the fruit and vegetables grown in the school organic garden. Mrs Gourley and Miss McGinley did a great job of arranging the display and as always we thank Mr Barnett, without whom we would not be able to keep our garden going.
National Tree Day
We will be celebrating National Tree Day this year by visiting Brownhall Demense on Friday 7th October (1st - 6th Class). We are very grateful to Mrs Hamilton for accommodating us. We are lucky enough to have Shailagh visit again this year. You might remember that she accompanied the Middle Room to Murvagh Forest last year for a Woodland Exploration activity. We are also going to be taking part in some fishing and minibeast activities with Paul Gallagher, Jonathan Mitchell and Mr Barnett and we thank them very much for their help in arranging this trip. We are greatly looking forward to this outing and are hoping that the rain stays away. The children will need wellington boots and a waterproof coat.
Sponsored Unihoc
This year's Sponsored Unihoc will take place on Thursday 13th October from 12.30 p.m. until 3.00 p.m. in the Community Centre. We thank Muriel and Ezra for offering to run the event for us this year again and hope that despite the change of time, many of you will be able to join us for at least part of the event.
Science Show
The children in the Middle Room will be visiting Bundoran Library for a Science Show on Thursday 13th October.
Co. Donegal Schools' Service
5th Class and 6th Class enjoyed their outing to Ramelton Parish Church on Thursday 29th September where they joined with over 600 other children from the other 30 schools in Donegal which are under Church of Ireland or Presbyterian management. We say well done to Aimee Anderson for reading a 'Thank You' prayer on behalf of our school.
Donation to school
We wish to thank sincerely Ivan Diver and those who organised a fundraising coach trip in the summer and donated €495 to school funds. This money will be used to purchase additional sports equipment for P.E. lessons and for active playtimes.
