Biongó as Gaeilge
Seachtain na Gaeilge atá ann agus Dé Máirt seo caite, chuaigh na páistí i Rang 4, 5 & 6 go dtí an leabharlann i mBun Dobhráin. D'imríomar cluichí biongó agus bhí an-spraoi agus spórt againn! Bhuaigh Lee, Ben, Drew agus Louise duaiseanna agus thógamar leabhair abhaile linn.
It is Irish week and last Tuesday the children in 4th,5th and 6th Class went to the library in Bundoran. We played Biongo games and we had great fun. Lee, Ben, Drew and Louise won prizes and we brought books home with us.

We had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day. We had hot chocolate, milk and cookies followed by an enormous bedtime story (all in our pyjamas!). We read stories, wrote stories and shared stories. Everyone went home with a book token which can be exchanged for a free book or used as part of the cost of an alternative book. The official World Book Day website and details of the free books can be found here.

Chris Thompson visited us last Monday. In the Junior Classes, she told some wonderful stories. In the Senior Classes, we had a writing workshop and concentrated on writing poetry. We hope to publish some of this poetry soon. As part of our School Development work, we are working on improving writing skills. The following video is a reading of a poem composed at the workshop.

It's time again for our Easter Egg Competition. The imaginative and artistic response last time was fantastic and we hope that this year's eggs will be equally wonderful.
Eggs will need to be in school by Tuesday 19th March for judging.
Swimming for 3rd - 6th Class will begin after the Easter holidays. The cost per child will be €25 and this money will cover the cost of transport to and from the pool. The cost of the tuition (€34 per child) will be covered by school/fundraising money.
It is regrettable that we have to charge for this but unfortunately the Department of Education requires schools to provide swimming lessons for the children but does not provide any funding for it.
