Service in Ramelton
5th and 6th Class very much enjoyed the service today in Ramelton Presbyterian Church. It was lovely to get the opportunity to meet children from some of the other schools.
We are very excited to tell you all that we have been given the opportunity to perform in this year's Peace Proms Concert. We will be off to sing in the Odyssey Arena in Belfast in February. To perform at such a fantastic venue is something I am sure our choir will remember for the rest of their lives. Hopefully, many of you will join us for the concert.

Schools' Service The children in 5th and 6th Class will be travelling to Ramelton Presbyterian Church on Thursday 24th September to take part in a Schools' Church Service. This is the first time all of the schools in County Donegal under Church of Ireland or Presbyterian Management will come together so we are very much looking forward to it. Thank you We wish to thank sincerely Ivan Diver and those who organised a fundraising coach trip in the summer and donated €450 to school funds. This money will be spent entirely on books for our new library area in the entrance hall. Flag Presentation On Monday 21st September the school will be visited by representatives from the Irish Army. This is part of the 1916 nationwide celebrations. One of our 6th Class pupils has been selected to receive the Irish flag on behalf of the school. School Photographer The school photographer will be in school on Tuesday 22nd September at 9 a.m. If anyone has any special requests for groupings or wishes to bring in smaller brothers and sisters (or even Mums and Dads), please let me know on Monday so that it can be organised for you. Cross Country Well done to all those who took part in the running event at Donegal Rugby Club on Friday 18th September. Condolences We send our condolences to the McCrea family on their recent bereavement. Unihoc This year's Unihoc will be held on Friday 9th October at 6 p.m. Our thanks to Muriel and Ezra for offering to run the event again this year and for their continued support of school. I am sure they would be grateful for help, both preparing for and on the evening of the event. Welcome and thank you... We are delighted to welcome Mrs McMahon back to school. Mrs McMahon will be working part-time as our Resource Teacher. Thank you also to Mrs Russell who will be working with the children in the Senior Room on the story of Joseph. We are grateful also to Francess O'Connell, Leah Love, Geraldine Clarke and Jenny Mahon for volunteering to help in school on a regular basis. We also thank Mr Barnett for his continued help and work in the school garden. Class Pages Don't forget to check for updates on the class pages! Mrs Patterson's Room Miss Browne's Room Ulster Scots Anyone who was within a mile of school last Thursday afternoon will not have failed to hear the sound of the Lambeg drum. The children in 4th, 5th and 6th Class are enjoying weekly sessions with representatives from the Ulster Scots Agency. These vary every week and last week it was the turn of the Lambeg Drum. It was great fun, and everyone in the whole school was treated to a few tunes. Some even got to try it for themselves...but in some cases, I think the drum was bigger than the child. |
