World Book Day
Thursday 2nd March was World Book Day. We held a huge Book Quiz with everyone from Junior Infants to 6th Class. Lots of whispering, head scratching and moaning going on but as well as promoting reading and having lots of fun, as always it was lovely to see how kind and caring our older children are towards out smallest ones.
We welcomed representatives from Inland Fisheries Ireland for this year's Something Fishy visit. The children enjoyed this visit immensely. Inland Fisheries have asked for permission to use photographs taken on the day for promotional use. If you do not want your child’s photograph used, please contact the school as soon as possible and let us know.
Thank you so much to the wonderful group of Mammies for coming in to school on Tuesday to cook and serve us up the most delicious pancakes. Fortunately the rain stayed away long enough for us to go outside for our annual pancake tossing races.
We had a noisy but fun treat for everyone at our African Drum workshop on Monday past. There was lots of loud banging and chanting. Thank you to Barra O’Flannaigh from Slí na Croí.
Next week is Engineers' Week and the children from the Senior Room will be visiting the Letterkenny Institute of Technology for a very exciting show called 'It's all done with mirrors.'
