Happy Valentine's Day!
Oink! Oink! Oink!
We have been learning lots about looking after babies at SPHE time. We bathed our baby dolls carefully and we have been looking after them at our 'baby clinic'.
We have been playing badminton at P.E time. It's great fun!
Reading Time is fun when we work together!
Discover Science Project
We have been very busy investigating and exploring at Science time. Our Discover Science work is keeping us very busy!
We have been very busy preparing for Christmas.
Weren't we all looking very festive on Wednesday 17th December in our lovely Christmas jumpers and accessories?!
We made some lovely Christmas cards and sewed some fantastic stockings for our Christmas tree.
Don't forget our Carol Service is on Thursday 18th December at 7PM...we have been very busy rehearsing!
Look out for more festive photos coming to the gallery very soon!
Winter has arrived!
It feels a little cold in our room these days! Come and have a look at the winter board in our classroom, we are rather proud of our 'Seven Singing Snowmen' and our 'Eight rocking robins'!
Weather Wardrobes! Wardro W
We have been talking about clothes we wear for different weathers. Clothes that keep us cool, clothes that keep us nice and dry and clothes that keep us warm. We looked at some clothes and the materials they are made from at Science time and sorted them into categories- 'wet' 'warm' and 'cool'. Can you guess the weather that our friend in the picture is dressed for? Doesn't she look nice and cosy?!
We have learned a lot of interesting things about Emperor penguins in class. Be sure to ask us about what we know, we have lots to tell you about them! As we were so inspired we made some lovely penguins at Art time, don't they look good?!
Our Friendship Chain
We love to read in our room and we have been busy sharing stories and books with each other.
We have really enjoyed our drama sessions with Louise on Monday mornings. It was great to explore all the fairytales we know and listen to a few new ones!
Work for our 10th Discover Primary Science and Maths award is progressing well. As always, we are enjoying exploring, investigating and experimenting! Recently we enjoyed learning lots about waterproof and absorbent materials. Needless to say, we made a lot of things very wet!
As part of the P.E curriculum we were learning all about staying safe both in and around water. We enjoyed a very informative talk and had to answer lots of questions to ensure we received our water safety certificates!
We had great fun learning lots of interesting things during our Halloween theme week. We learned all about bats, growing pumpkins and Jack-o-Lantern. We learned some spooky songs and listened to Saint-Saens 'Fossils' from Carnival of the animals at Music time. During our Art lessons we got messy with the black paint to make spooky black bats and spiders. On our fun day at school we got to play some fun Halloween games, carve a pumpkin and we even got some sweets! You can see some of the enjoyable activities we got up to on our dress up day below, don't worry, we weren't too scary!!
Maths Week 2014!
We had a fantastic time celebrating all things Mathematical this week in school. To round off a fun week of Maths activities we had a board games morning. We decided to share the fun so, we invited the senior children to join us to play and share the games we brought also. Later in the day we completed a 'Maths Trail' the senior children had created for us to enjoy on the iPads. We were delighted to get our hands on them for the first time! We had a wonderful Maths adventure around school solving the puzzles the senior children had made for us. Mrs Gourley has told us Maths is all around us, hmm...perhaps she is right! :)
Singing time with Ms. Currid
We love singing time with Ms. Currid on Friday mornings. Here is a little snippet of us singing one of our favourites!
DiNgLe DaNgLe Scarecrows!
We have been busy with fabric and fibre in art! We made these lovely scarecrows inspired by our 'Dingle Dangle Scarecrow' song.
Cheerios breakfast together for Childline
Munch! Slurp! Yum!
What a lovely way to raise funds for a great cause.
Thank you for your support!
National Tree Day 2014
We had a busy day on Thursday 9th October learning lots of things about trees. We even had time to learn a special tree song! It was very wet outside but we still managed to plant our little 'mountain ash' tree. It is a special tree as it will change colour with each season, we are looking forward to watching it grow.
We had a messy art time today making monsters out of clay. To begin we practiced pulling, pinching, rolling, moulding and squashing our clay. Afterwards we used our imaginations to create our marvellous monsters. You would be welcome to come and visit our monsters in school, most of them are friendly, however, you better watch out, as some of them are mean and hungry!
Look who we caught in the reading tent today!
